The Third

Some folks have asked us, “why are you called The Third?” We’re not on Third Avenue, after all – that’s in the Glebe and we’re proud Hintonburgers. So what’s it all about, this Third? Well, it’s all about The Third Place: We consider the third place to be any of the neutral public places where people can gather and interact. We all have them in our lives – or at least, we all should. Unlike the first place (home) and the second place (work), the third place allows people to put aside their concerns and simply enjoy the pleasure of good company.
What’s so special about this Third place? At The Third in Ottawa’s amazing Hintonburg neighbourhood, we’ve created a warm, welcoming space for people to gather, have conversation, enjoy a thoughtfully prepared meal, maybe take in some beverages – but most of all, to have that interaction in a sense of community. When COVID restrictions are in place, of course, we’re doing our best to keep a slice of that going, even if it’s just being able to say hi to our clientele picking up orders. This, too, shall pass, and we’ll be waiting here to serve you once again in The Third Place.
