DT CALGARY’S FAVORITE PIZZA RESTAURANT
Michael Batas started working in restaurants and hotel kitchens as a young teenager in his native Cyprus before continuing in restaurants and nightclubs in Australia. He settled in Calgary staying in the industry and in May, 1981 used all of his experiences to start Michael’s Restaurant. Today Michael’s is a fixture in the downtown restaurant scene.
Michael passed on all of his experience to his son John who today runs the operation with his mom Helen in this truly family restaurant. Hand picking produce, making dough and sauces are part of the daily routine that brings people back to Michael’s.
