Les Enfants Terribles
A FAMILY STORY…
In the fall of 2007, during a family dinner, Francine Brûlé dreams aloud of a new challenge. A seasoned businesswoman, mother of three grown-up boys and a natural unifier, she immediately welcomed the idea of a restaurant, which was obvious. In the days that followed, by chance, she fell in love with a place at the corner of Bernard and Champagneur streets in Outremont. On February 1, 2008, she took possession of the premises.
With his eldest Alexandre Brûlé-Brosseau, artistic director and Louis-Joseph Papineau, architect-designer, the space is completely redesigned. Facade with French windows, barn wood, school paintings, open kitchen, frescoes by Tim Barnard, long convivial tables, magnificent central bar; all of these elements and their arrangement contribute to the attractive cachet of the decor.
On April 14 of the same year, the neighborhood restaurant received its first customers. The light floods in for lunchtime or weekend brunches and in the evening, any pretext is good to come and greet Francine and her accomplice Serge Bruneau, a regular at great addresses.
From the first summer, the terrace is one of the most popular in town and the place quickly becomes a favorite destination for epicureans of all ages. The menu revisits the classics or invents simple dishes with a rebellious accent, festive and tasty, in the warm atmosphere of a somewhat turbulent household.
Les Enfants Terribles are contagious. To adopt them is to admit that you are also, in your own way, an enfant terrible.
