The Half Shell is a seasonal, open-air, seafood-focused restaurant in the heart of Old Town Lunenburg on Nova Scotia’s scenic south shore. Our menu features high-quality local seafood and upscale dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Our drink menu offers a wealth of local selections for guests looking to relax by the waterfront and enjoy the best of what Nova Scotia has to offer.

What started in 2016 as a primarily raw seafood and oyster bar has since expanded to have a more robust menu including tacos, paella, margaritas, and more.

We’ve recently expanded our patio to welcome the growing crowds of guests from all over who come to try our world-famous seafood complemented by stunning views of the Lunenburg harbor. This is an authentic South Shore experience that can’t be beat!

Part of a family of five restaurants located on Montague Street in Lunenburg, you’ll find the same great hospitality and exceptional quality at all of our locations. Just an hour outside of Halifax, the destination is well worth the drive.
